You know you’ve been in Boise for a while if you remember the band Equaleyes. Donnelly-born Jeff Crosby has come far with his music roots, having lived in the sprawl of L.A. and now residing in Nashville. He says he is surprised at Nashville’s small town feel.
Before going live, Jeff told a story about checking in with his doctor and asking if “Hair of the Dog” was a good thing or not. He laughed that of course the doctor said “No.” “You’re pretty much drinking at night, then drinking again in the morning!” He talked about favorite eating spots in town, and a bad experience ordering the wrong burrito at a popular all-night place on Fairview.
It was great to finally get Jeff in for a last-minute session. He mentioned he wears glasses but doesn’t like how they look. He joked he is less nervous if he can’t see anybody. He was really kind and easy-going and loved meeting and chatting with the listeners who won a seat to his performance.
Jeff spoke of some serious health problems in the past after visiting Mexico, where he got a very serious virus. He was thankful for a GoFundMe account that helped with his medical payments, and he was very sincere about his appreciation from local fans who had helped.
Jeff has a holiday song, and we are hoping he contacts our friend Carrie to do a song on next year's Idaho Ho CD, a benefit for Women's & Children's Alliance.
This song was written while Jeff was on the road in Wyoming. My friend from Wyoming was in town andat the session with his daughter, they really enjoyed it.

You can catch Jeff Crosby tonight at The Ranch Club, and tomorrow at Neurolux. There is a special “Ida Hoe-down Coffee Brown” Ale available at these shows.
You will also be able to see Jeff performing at the NYE Potato Drop downtown.
His final song is an amazing not-yet-released collaboration with Gary Braun. If you’re new to Idaho and not familiar with Braun Brothers or Micky and the Motorcars, you must check them out. The Braun Brothers Reunion summer concert in Challis is an amazing party in the mountains. Micky and the Motorcars will be at Revolution Concert House for this year’s NYE party.
I’m FB friends with Gary, we shared a stage with friends at Shorty’s years ago. When Jeff sings the song about “Going to the desert to find out who I am,” I remembered seeing this image on Gary’s page.
Jeff said they were both going through a breakup at the same time. We’re so thankful he shared this brand new song with us!
