Cookies, Doilies and a Cute Dragon

Western Idaho Fair 2018

When attending the Western Idaho Fair, don't overlook the competitive exhibits. I'll start with the crafts because the stuffed dragon above is so stinkin' cute.

Quilts, sewing and needlework are at the south end of the Expo Building. I have a soft spot for doilies. The work it takes to crochet or tat these pieces is fascinating.

So tempting to strum this harp in the woodworking division, but the sign says "don't touch."

On to the food. There are a lot of cookie experts in the Treasure Valley.

Loaves of bread and dinner rolls.

And along with jams and jellies, canned chicken. Winner, winner.

Anyone can enter these divisions. Details on how to do it are posted every year at When you win a ribbon, you also win cash.

The Western Idaho Fair runs through Sunday, August 26th.
