Hot Hula class? That's an exercise class that caught my eye.
When mentioning it to folks, they assumed it was a hula hoop class.
I've been to one of those before and it IS fun.
Hot Hula incorporates traditional hula dancing moves with traditional music and fun beachy-type tunes from the '60s.
Plus, you get to wear a sarong (over your workout clothes). Guys, too, unless they don't want to.
It's low-impact, but it can be a big workout for the hips and core as you shake your booty.
I took a class at the West YMCA last Friday, where I'm a member. If you want to try it, the class is every Friday, 1 pm.
Free class tonight and every Wednesday in January at 7 pm at Idaho Fitness Factory, 11600 W. Fairview Ave, Boise.
There is a free class to sample the fitness format on Saturday, March 31st, 10:30 am - noon at JUMP. Although it is free, you should reserve a spot through Eventbrite.
HOT HULA fitness® began in 2009 and has continued to grow a strong community of support amongst its members around the world. The unique fusion between fitness and dance moves rooted in the cultures of the Pacific islanders, creates an excellent low-impact approach to fitness and overall well-being.
