Pete Yorn, August 17, 2009
It's been a couple of years since Pete Yorn came through Boise, but he remembers. He even remembered BSU football, and all the "trick plays" the team is known for. He and his bandmates had such a good time during soundcheck, they were fun to watch. They played around a little on a cover of Landslide, trying to sound as goofy as he possibly could. He's been busy, working on a duo album with Scarlet Johansen that will be released September 25th. He also went to Salem, Oregon and recorded 14 songs in 6 days, with Frank Black. He's listening to The Go! Team on his iPod and would love to work with them someday. Regarding online networking, he says he had to get all of them going on like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter, but said, "I'm not sure I would use them if I were a private citizen." He joked about not even owning his own version of "It Never Rains in Southern California," a song he remade for the movie soundtrack "Stuck on You." When listeners in the room remembered this movie about conjoined twins, every burst out laughing! Pete Yorn has toured with Coldplay, and seems to have some upcoming projects and secrets for the future. Here is the single from his latest cd, the song "Don't Wanna Cry."
