Scars on 45 2014
Our friends Scars on 45 returned to play a great session. They lost their label recently, but have written 35 songs which are being sorted through for a new album. They need your help! They have a current pledge campaign, and your money will give them funds for their new release. In return, you can get signed cd’s, t-shirts, handwritten lyrics, a soccer day, or private show with the band! (I’d love to have them back in town at a house party, where we could have some stellar sound for their harmonies!) You can help donate to their pledge campaign HERE, it’s a seriously great place to put your donations.
The band is so friendly, always full of hugs. Nova smelled delightful of cologne, and gave me the whisker-cheek kiss I’d hoped for. Aimee’s voice is indescribable, and her harmony with Danny is beautiful. Before their downtown show, Nova brought some Ferrero Rocher and said, “You want some? Yes you do.” I obliged, it was the perfect finish to the potato-bacon pizza from downstairs. Just missed them there. The band’s entire day was plagued with sound challenges, but they kept smiling and saying, “Roll with it.”
Can we just have a do-over for the whole day? They are so much fun!
Our Listener Lounge is now sponsored by Blue Moon. This is exciting, as we will soon have all kinds of swag and yes, FREE BEER. Keep listening for details on Record Exchange live sessions we’ll have for you. Danny asked if we had samples, but we explained that things aren’t yet shipped, but will be next week. (ZZ Ward at noon in-studio April 3rd!) As Nova’s borrowed keyboard needed re-booted, Aimee joked with him quietly that they’d tried to get him to play a triangle, but he couldn’t keep it in tune.
If you couldn’t make the night show, or they were out of your size of hoodie or t-shirt, you can order online.
We can’t wait for their return!
