Roxx's Session Chatter

Mat Kearney, 2012

(Ooops, the camera got bumped, but you get the idea!)

"Boy SEE...Boy SEE..."

Before our session began, Mat started practicing the pronunciation of our city for the show tonight. He opens for Train on our BSU campus, so he really wants to make sure to say it right. Mat has been kind to visit us many times. He still lives in Nashville, after the session I heard him say, "I still curse the South in the summertime."

Mat joked about how his intimate talks with friends and family often later turn into songs. He grins and says, "Every poet is a thief, man!"

Feeling inspired on this current tour, Mat travels with a mobile recording studio. He says he has a new song, but "It's like being pregnant for a month. It's too early to talk about it, it has no name, and you just feel sick sometimes."

A great surprise today was an in-studio guest. We had Mat's 7th grade teacher here with us, who was so proud of him and said, "What a nice fella."

Want to see something amazing? Mat was really impressed with this and told us to watch. Here is the PS22 Chorus' version of his song above. THIS, is adorable.
