July 11, 2012 - JJ Grey & MofroBorn into a family with generations-old roots in rural Florida, JJ Grey was raised with a combination of backwoods wisdom and old-school blue-collar values. He heard music at barbeques and in local juke joints, all the while developing a deep love and respect for the land and its culture. Grey’s original songs are inspired by legendary musicians, including Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd, soul greats Otis Redding and Toots Hibbert, country stars George Jones and Jerry Reed, as well as by Grand Ole Opry comedian Jerry Clower. Whether it is a narrative passed down to him from his grandmother or the tribulations of a childhood friend, Grey’s ear for detail rings through in true storyteller fashion. July 31, 2012 - Steve Earle and the DukesA protoge of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Steve Earle quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. The new album has been met with overwhelming critical acclaim including a 3 1/2 out of 4 Star review in the Los Angeles Times while the New York Post stated that the album was "American roots music at its best" in their 3 1⁄2 out of 4 star review. I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive was released alongside his debut novel of the same name (published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). The novel imagines the troubled life of Doc Ebersole as he is haunted by the ghost of his former patient and friend, Hank Williams. Patti Smith stated, "Steve Earle brings to his prose the same authenticity, poetic spirit and cinematic energy he projects in his music. I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive is like a dream you can't shake, offering beauty and remorse, redemption in spades." Recognized as an actor from the overwhelmingly acclaimed series The Wire, Steve Earle is also a cast member on HBO's acclaimed series Treme, currently in its second season. See him live at the Egyptian Theater. |

May 29, 2012 - FeistFor nearly a decade, Leslie Feist did not stop moving. Her 2004 album Let It Die led right into 2007’s The Reminder, which earned her four Grammy nominations, six Juno wins, the Shortlist Music Prize, and the opportunity to teach Muppets to count on Sesame Street. She made her Saturday Night Live debut and toured the world. She covered an album with Beck, watched Stephen Colbert shimmy in a sequined “1234” jumpsuit, and made a documentary about recording The Reminder. And then, finally, after the seventh year, Feist rested. When Feist was ready to make music again, she had very different ideas about how to shatter the quiet. She's touring this year in support of a new album called Metals. See her live at Outlaw Field when she makes her way to Boise. |

July 17, 2012 - Lyle Lovett & Acoustic GroupLyle Lovett was one of the most distinctive and original singer/songwriters to emerge during the '80s. August 24, 2012 - Crosby, Stills & NashThe music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash is a cornerstone of rock ‘n roll. As Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN), this trio of legendary singer-songwriters has been actively collaborating since 1969, when they first harmonized in either Joni Mitchell's living room or Mama Cass Elliot's dining room, depending on which member you ask (Crosby and Nash ascribe to the former, Stills is adamant about the latter). Wherever its point of origin, the connection they forged from day one-as artists and as friends-was profound and unbreakable. Essential elements of our pop culture experience, their songs are just as durable, conveying emotional truths and social consciousness in equal measure. See them live at Outlaw Field. |

July 12, 2012 - k.d. langFirst time ever performing in the Treasure Valley - k.d. lang is that rare performer who, over 25 years as a major-label artist, has matured before our very ears. The Western Canada native launched her career with a blend of country-rock stylings and playfully punk-like attitude, by turns whimsical and subversive; back then, she practically put the alternative in alt-country. But from the very beginning, her bravura singing belied her kitschy cowgirl outfits and spiky hair; anyone lucky enough to attend very first appearance in the United States, on a triple bill of unsigned artists at New York City's Bottom Line, could hear that she was marked for greatness. She now brings her Siss Boom Bang Tour to the Treasure Valley at Eagle River Pavilion. Buy Tickets - starting March 2nd. |
